If you are planning to install a culvert, a permit application is required before any work begins. To ensure your plans comply with town regulations, please submit your application at least two weeks before you intend to start the installation. This gives the Town of Farmington ample time to review the site. The permit fee is $60.00.
Remember to consult with County Planning and Zoning for information on any required county-level permits – this is seperate from Township permits.

Culverts must be made of steel and include endwalls.

The Town of Farmington will reimburse residents for 50% of the culvert installation cost. To receive reimbursement, you must submit your invoice to the town office. Please note, residents are required to pay the company in full, then submit the invoice for reimbursement.

If you are building a new driveway or replacing an existing one, it’s a great idea to install the culvert at the same time. This can save you the hassle of doing it as a separate project later on. The Town can help decide if a culvert will be needed.
