Artificial wake-enhancing activities are prohibited on certain lakes within the Town of Farmington.

No person may employ water sacks, ballast tanks, submersible wings, or any other device that causes a boat to operate in a bow-high manner on lakes covered by this ordinance.

No person may operate a boat in an artificially bow-high manner to increase or enhance the boat’s wake. It is okay to use a wake boat as long as the following methods are not used. (Use the link below to read the full ordinance): 

Prohibited methods include the use of:

• Ballast

• Hydrofoils

• Uneven loading

• Operating at transition speeds
